No Increase in Beer Duty

Print
News: November 2017

Chancellor Philip Hammond has frozen the duty payable on beer in the Budget.

The move should mean no immediate increases in the cost of a pint, although drinkers of white cider and other strong, cheap alcoholic drinks are likely to see an increase in duty on these products from 2019.

The Chancellor also extended the temporary £1,000 business rate relief for most pubs.
