Harvey’s Celebrates Yeast Milestone

Print
News: October 2017

Sussex brewery Harvey’s is celebrating the sixtieth birthday of its yeast.

The yeast arrived at the Lewes brewery in 1957, transported by train from York, after the company’s regular yeast supplier went out of business.

The new yeast, supplied by the Tadcaster Brewery Company, quickly adapted to the conditions at Harvey’s and has remained in use ever since, surviving two major floods in the process.
