News: July 2017

A stout from Loch Lomond brewery has been judged Champion Beer of Scotland by the Campaign for Real Ale.

Silkie Stout, named after local folklore creatures who lived as both seals and humans, was judged the best Scottish cask beer by a team of judges at the Scottish Real Ale Festival, held in Edinburgh.

The 5% ABV brew, which was judged Scotland’s Champion Stout last year, saw off challenges from Cromarty’s Rogue Wave (silver) and Isle of Skye’s Young Pretender and Sulwath’s Black Galloway (joint bronze) to take the crown.
